16 Ways to See…
Recently, I saved a leaf skeleton and decided to photograph it in order to create a body of work that I have decided to call, Diaphanous. I became interested in the close-up possibilities of this one, particular subject and proceeded to make a bunch of images. Below are 16 out of the 57 frames I finalized, (I took over 105 photos). I am sharing this to give you an idea of the possibilities, even with such a small sized subject. By varying the camera angles, depth of field, camera to subject distance, a lot can be accomplished and changed. Since I was concentrating only on close-ups…I left out the countless possibilities that could be accomplished if I placed this object in a variety of settings and experimenting more dramatically with distance.
Below, I share with you, two of the resulting final images from the series I am working on this summer, Diaphanous. All images are copyrighted © by Belenna Mesa Lauto.
